Eastern Region Family Day Care

Eastern Region Family Day Care provides families with the unique opportunity to have their children participate in meaningful learning programs in small, mixed age groups in a home-based setting. Children are nurtured and cared for in the homes of Eastern Region Family Day Care Educators who are registered with the Shire of Mundaring and trained, supported and resourced by Eastern Region Family Day Care Service.

Educators provide care for children aged 0-12 years. Home based care enables Educators to cater to flexible care arrangements required by parents, including Before and After School Care, Kindy Care and Vacation Care. Some Educators offer overnight and weekend care.

Midvale Hub child care services, including Eastern Region Family Day Care, have been rated and assessed as Exceeding National Quality Standard,

Educators Facilitate Play and Learning
Inside and Outside

In family day care planned and spontaneous indoor and outdoor experiences have a play-based focus. Experiences may be initiated by a child, whereas others will be intentionally planned by the Educator to support children
in all aspects of their growth, development and learning.

The Curriculum – Belonging, Being and
Becoming
 and My Time, Our Place

Children are given opportunities to explore and gain a love of
learning that will promote each child in reaching their full
potential and experiencing success in future learning.

Throughout the cycle of the year, Eastern Region Family Day Care Educators provide rich educational programs that support each child’s emerging sense
of self and develops a sense of belonging to place, to the family
day care service, to the community and as a citizen of the world.

During the four school terms and the vacation period, Eastern Region Family Day Care offers outside school hours care programs that support school aged
children with a seamless transition between school and care. A balanced program caters for the needs of individual children, whilst establishing a strong sense of community in the group. The children are active participants in the program planning and implementation.

All Early Years’ and School Aged programs are underpinned by educational theory and contemporary research and follow the Early Years Learning Framework – Belonging, Being and Becoming, or the Framework for School Aged Education and Care – My Time, Our Place which are part of the National Quality Framework for Early Education and Care Services.
