Aboriginal Family Support
For many years the Midvale Hub has been employing local Aboriginal people to provide support for local families. Our dedicated team ensure that programs offered at the Hub are culturally appropriate and meet the needs of local Aboriginal families.
Midvale Hub Sites at Middle Swan and Clayton View
Our Hub sites at Middle Swan and Clayton View were designed by a local Aboriginal Reference Group. The sites were originally federally funded as part of the Closing the Gap initiative. Formerly known as the Swan Children and Family Centres, the sites are part of the Midvale Hub.
Aboriginal Outreach WorkersPlay Leaders
Our Aboriginal Outreach Workers provide support for families and children at home, in the community, at Hub sites and in local schools. The Outreach
workers introduce and link families to early childhood services, health
services, family support services and adult education opportunities
that are available at the Hub and in the wider community.
Aboriginal Health Services
Derbarl Yerrigan Aboriginal Health provides health services at
our Hub health clinics. A range of other free health services also
operate out of the Hub health clinics which can be accessed by
Aboriginal families.
Aboriginal Playgroups
Our hub Aboriginal Playgroup Koolbardi Waabiny
is provided by qualified Aboriginal Educators in a culturally
sensitive manner.
